Ian Aspin TV Journalist

Duration 4 mins and 45 seconds.

Ian Aspin Showreel from Reallygood Pictures on Vimeo.  Some of my work for television including producing, presenting, and reporting (news, current affairs, documentary, features, factual programming, etc.) for broadcasters including BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky etc.

Who is Ian Aspin?

Ian Aspin is Professor of Ideas at Reallygood Thinking.

In 2006 he was Time magazine's Person of the Year as well as leading Business 2.0's list of fifty people who matter now. *

I'm a journalist, producer, presenter and part of an independent production company (www.reallygoodtv.co.uk) in Lancashire, in the north of England.

Though I've worked mostly in TV and radio (BBC, ITV, Sky, C4) I'm excited to be involved in the fantastic possibilities for connectedness, new ways of thinking and living, journalism and storytelling, that are emerging from the global digital revolution.

Through my work making programmes and covering all kinds of stories, I've spent loads of time discovering, meeting, interviewing, and hanging out with outstanding people (and a few scary ones!) from all sorts of backgrounds.

Most have interesting thoughts, do amazing things, and often love to pass on great ideas they’ve found helpful in creating the life they have today.

I'm passionate about all that good stuff.  I want to use it, wrestle with it, share it, and help people make a positive difference, not just keep it in my head.

So far in my life and work, I’ve had some great successes and massive highs which I’m pretty proud of.  There’s been plenty of fun and adventure, as well as tough times and some things turning out, urm, not exactly as I'd hoped!

But through my own adventures, thinking, reading, questioning, and learning, I keep finding ways to get the most out of life.  I'm always looking for and discovering great people, ideas, and things that can help us make positive changes and build a better world.

Everyday, I reckon I’m taking steps forward developing a life of meaning, purpose, and what you might call “real happiness”.

And you know what?  I’m loving the process.

I'm guessing you’re here cos you're doing the same, or want to.

What's Reallygood Thinking?

Reallygood Thinking is about focusing on what matters, what's important, what gives us real value.  I've found the most successful, world-changing and interesting people define those things, and then they build their lives around them.

Reallygood Thinking will help us wake up to the possibilities that come from cutting the crap, finding our true selves, and developing a life of meaning and purpose.  And at the risk of sounding cheesy, we will discover that what we need most in our lives, is there for us right now.

I reckon these are sound concepts, relevant to business and life, and they might even lead us to unbelievable riches.

So I'd like Reallygood Thinking, and the stuff we discover, to help us make a living, make a life, and push us a bit further towards building a better, more sustainable world.
